Baltic wedding-portrait-and-nature photocontest 2015

I`am Photographer photofestival by NIKON is over for this year. "Baltic wedding-portrait-nature photography contest" 2015, that was part of the festival, brought me 1st place in Nature Landscape category. It is great honor and recognition for me!

Lõppenud on Nikoni poolt korraldatav fotofestival I`m Photographer. Sony World Photography Awards 2015

Play of colors

As I went shooting in the evening I thought to myself, why couldn´t I just be a cloud photographer. It would be much easier. For me it is difficult to find an intriguing foreground. The location was unknown for me and the dark rocks covered with dried seaweed seemed very dark. No visible detail. I kept walking around, keeping my eyes open to find at least something. I was taking notes in my mind. Clouds looked promising and I understood that I had to capture the moment in this exact spot at this exact time.
Shortly, when the sun was setting, I quickly started experimenting with different compositions. The light became sweeter with every minute. And all I had in the foreground were those dark ghosts (which is what the rocks looked like). Dark&light contrast was unusually strong. Technically it made things more complicated. I was not satisfied at all with what I saw from the display. That´s when I figured that I should just stick with photographing the sky alone. Lucki…
